CSL Sound Cube Launching @ Luna Bar

Originality pays off, and even Google is rewarding that! Amazingly CSL come out with an innovative idea to reward the music lovers. To launch the event the they organized CSL and Universal Music Celebration Party at Luna Bar on 9th March, 2010!

It's music packed, and guests are rewarded with great finger food and drinks prepared by Luna Bar, to be honest, I never know a bar can have such nice finger food! Also, free flow beers, now you know why I'm attracted eh?

Marriage Between Spice CSL and Universal Music

Spice CSL International Sdn. Bhd (“Spice CSL”) and Universal Music Malaysia have entered into a partnership to provide to provide consumers music on CSL phones!

CSL has designed more than 100 models of mobile phones, netbooks and USB modems. As of Jan 2011, CSL has sold more than 3 million units of mobile phones. Being the market leader for the budget segment, CSL now holds 18% of the market share in Malaysia.

Already a strong player in ASEAN cell phone market, started out by providing the market with phones with lower price range, they are now stepping up their game to tap the smartphone market! This partnership will hopefully attracts music lovers (well who doesn't like music anyway!?), Universal Music will have the benefit of digital distribution of their music and to CSL it's another innovative idea, the first of such partnership between music distributor and phone maker.

Legal free music download, need I say more? I used to spent hours looking for the songs I like, that is downloadable and without any watermark, and it's illegal. Now, it's free and totally legal! Story behind the marriage

I'm honored to have the chance to speak with their senior management, and much to my surprise, they are very open minded person! I'm really impressed with their market penetration strategy, by entering into a market sector which much less competition, the 2nd phone market. Nope not 2nd hand, how many friends around you have 2 phones, yeap that's what I'm talking about. CSL know that they can attract much more customer by providing innovative products at a lower price (dual-sim, build-in TV etc etc) and with the increasing demand for a 2nd phone, they succeeded. Instead of continuously becoming the mistress, they are now stepping up and they have the aim to tell the rest of the world about their intention. Sound cube is but the very first step, and there's more to come! No wonder the won the Mobile World Star Award – Best Malaysian Brand 2008 / 2009, Mobile World Star Award – Best Malaysia Made Phone Model.

P/S: Just a word of advice, if anyone from CSL happens to read this, at least put a TM on SoundCube, and make it one word if it is possible. It simply sound cooler, and at least it wouldn't be confused with a speaker.
