What are words? Being dumb I usually consult wikipedia for answer, and this is what I'm told

In language, a word is the smallest free form that may be uttered in isolation with semantic or pragmatic content (with literal or practical meaning).

But that is word, so what are words? Plural form of what explained above is the simplest answer, yet words given the right choice and combination on the right context is also the most powerful weapon. That is if they are translated into action. Words bear meaning as they are expressed, but will not have any impact if no action is taken based on those words. With that many words I've expressed or told myself in my mind through out the years of my life, I wonder how they are going to be translated into action, I wonder...
